Information about the WVPOS System:
- To update or modify your WVPOS information you must login with your userid and password.
- (Authorization Required. Contact your department's official master account holder before signing up.)
- Click here if you need help remembering your password.
Getting started on entering vacancies for your department is easy! You will need to complete our online sign-up process.
You will be able to update or delete your information at any time. All the information you provide is kept strictly private and is only used to properly administer WVPOS. If you do not have a valid internet e-mail account you will not be able to take full advantage of our system.
We intend to restrict entry access to authorized individuals in the same way as is done on the PIE system - having one individual in each department responsible for authorizing entry personnel. Each department should designate one individual to authorize other entry personnel. This will be your master account holder. That individual needs to sign up first. SPB will review the information for the master account holder and activate the department for entry.
Major differences between the Mainframe VPOS and Internet WVPOS
- Ability to enter vacancy listings, update any listings for your agency or delete any vacancy for your agency. The add and edit feature on the Internet will allow you to make immediate additions or changes on the website through the vacancy database.
- You may indicate up to four different classes for one vacancy to cover the possibility of different recruitment levels for a position.
- You have the option to enter hiring salaries other than the minimum salaries.
- You may enter a vacancy statement today and specify a date for it to appear on the system (Go live date).
- A space is provided for entering a link to an advertisement on your departmental website.
- Job seekers will have many more search options than with the mainframe system.
- An updated file is exported daily for Teale to download in order to update OfficeVision.
Questions regarding the WVPOS system should be directed to the SPB Advanced Technology Development Team, PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR 3 DIGIT STATE CONTROLLER AGENCY CODE, at webtech@spb.ca.gov or (916) 653-8219.
