Service Center

The State Personnel Board (SPB) maintains an Employment Service Center, in Sacramento, to provide the public access to State employment information. The Service Center is a self-service facility where you can obtain copies of examination bulletins, applications, brochures and forms related to state civil service employment. On-site computer access is also available to search the SPB's Web site for state examinations, vacancies and other employment resources.

The Service Center is open to the public and is located at 801Capitol Mall, Sacramento, California (click here for directions).

The Service Center hours are Monday through Friday (excluding State Holidays) between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., with staff available to provide assistance during the hours of 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

How to Contact the Service Center

The Service Center staff may be contacted by telephone at (916) 653-1705 during business hours between 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. When you reach our automated telephone system, press 3 to verify you are calling from a touch-tone telephone, then press 5 from the Main Menu and you will be instructed to hold until you can be connected to a staff person for assistance.
