"Understanding the Layoff Process" This seminar will provide a general overview of the layoff process and how it affects the employee. Emphasis will be on the techniques and resource tools available for the affected/impacted individuals seeking re-employment with the State of California.	Available by Departmental Special Request only.
"The State Civil Service Examination and Employment Process" This seminar covers how to complete a Std.678 State application, how to read an examination bulletin, the different types of examinations, final result notices, contact letters and the hiring process. "Limited Examination and Appointment Program" Come and learn about the Limited Examination and Appointment Program (LEAP). LEAP is an alternate examination and appointment process designed to facilitate the recruitment and hiring of persons with disabilities. Individuals with disabilities who are interested in employment in State civil service will not want to miss this informative seminar. Topics discussed include certification, the Readiness Evaluation and the Job Examination Period.	Postponed until further notice

General Information: Attendance at these seminars will provide individuals with the opportunity to "ask an expert" about the process of gaining employment with the State of California. All seminars will have a question and answer period to enable face to face interaction with an examination specialist from the State Personnel Board.

The "Understanding the Layoff Process and Positive Assistance Seminars" series are available to the public on selected Fridays at the State Personnel Board on the scheduled seminar dates listed above. State departments wishing to arrange for special sessions may contact:
